“An amazing conference for mythies. I’ve been inspired and helped in my own work and also been able to network.”

About the 2022 Mythologium

The Mythologium is a conference and retreat for mythologists and friends of myth. Mythologists present their latest research, and you explore your own responses through discussions, poetry, and writing reflections.

At this year’s Mythologium you’ll find 2 and 1/2 days of interconnected presentations from more than 50 mythologists, 20 different panels, and a keynote speech by Dr. Craig Chalquist. Read the full program here.

The Mythologium only happens once a year, and registration closes on July 25, so don’t miss your chance to join this unique community where we share ideas, inspire each other, and amplify each other’s work!

🌎 Registration closes July 25, 2022.
🌍 The Mythologium will be held July 29 – 31 online via Zoom.
🌏 Sessions will be recorded so you can catch up on talks you miss.

🌎 NEW FATES AND GRACES WORKSHOP 🌍

This year we are also hosting an optional, 1-day, pre-conference workshop to help you re-center in the work that matters most to you: your own.

Your Mythic Career:
Reconnecting with Your Mythological Calling and Purpose

Writers write. Teachers teach. Mythologists mythologize – but what does that mean for you,  in a world with no clear career path for mythology? It means you have the opportunity to create your career. In this one-day workshop, you’ll reflect, dig deep, and collaborate with your fellow mythologists to bring our collective creativity to bear on the most important project of all – your own life’s work.

Reconnect with what drew you to myth in the first place. Re-imagine where you could take your work – and where it might take you. We’ll share ideas and inspire each other with our field's possibilities, from teaching to publishing to mythological entrepreneurship to working mythologically in other areas.

Give your career the gift of a day, then watch and see what it gives you in return.

🌍 When & where: Thursday, July 28, 2022, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm via Zoom, with a 1-hour lunch break
🌏 Registration: $100

Presented by Dr. Joanna Gardner and Dr. Stephanie Zajchowski.
